The Role

We seek to appoint a committed and dynamic Learning Mentor who has the relevant qualifications and proven experience of working with young people. The role is to provide support, motivation and guidance to help pupils overcome barriers to their learning. These will include safeguarding, family issues, mental health problems or a lack of confidence.

The successful candidate will be required to provide support and guidance to young people to help them overcome barriers to learning, ensuring that individual pupils engage more effectively in learning and participating in the life of the school. Candidates will have the ability to identify and target those pupils at risk, and help them identify and address barriers to learning. Mentoring will take place one to one or in small groups so you will have excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for: day-to-day safeguarding needs of students in a year group, CPOMS, assisting with; administration, meetings, EHAT, communication with parents/carers and external agencies. 

You will be joining the Academy at a very exciting point along its journey to excellence. In March 2022 the school was judged to be ‘Good’ for the second consecutive time by Ofsted and we have been oversubscribed for the last two years.
